Paul Gauguin Cruises - New Ship

Well you know me by now, I like my bit of luxury every now and then and recently found this little bit of information about Paul Gauguin Cruises. If you recall I have written about them before because they do some speciality Photography themed cruises, follow this link.

So news of a second ship interested me, so read on...

On December 29, 2012, the m/v Tere Moana sets out on her maiden voyage under the Paul Gauguin Cruises banner, following a multi-faceted renovation that brings her up to Paul Gauguin's high standards for luxury and comfort.

The Moana specialises in European, Caribbean, and Latin American destinations, with an emphasis on delivering unique itineraries that larger ships cannot offer and exploring hidden ports throughout these regions. Spacious staterooms, an onboard watersports marina, a choice of two open-seating venues, and extensive spa are among her luxurious attributes. There is simply no better way to experience Europe, the Caribbean, or Latin America than aboard this sleek and sophisticated, intimate ship.

Staterooms from 161 sq. ft. to 298 sq. ft. (including balcony), including 8 staterooms with private balconies. Shown: Balcony stateroom

Now the Moana will take only 90 guests and looking at the pictures looks more like a luxury Yacht than a cruise ship, but hey why not!

The existing ship, Paul Gauguin does spend its time and in the Pacific and around Tahiti, so there are limited chances to experience this line, but with this new ship being in the Med next year what an opportunity.

Just waiting for someone to tell me that the 'Fam Trip' is on! Well, I can and usually do dream!

Calling all Photographers

Over the years I have taken thousands of photographs in various places, and back in July I wrote a short blog about a specialist themed photography cruise on Paul Gauguin Cruises.

Well , having spent the last few days going through thousands of images from my holidays, and looking at ways to improve my skills I stumbled across the link again and thought I'd look to see if these cruises are being done again in 2011.

So on 20th and 27th August 2011 Paul Gauguin cruises are hosting 2 themed photography cruises with professional photographers Roger Paperno & Jesse Kalisher. An excellent way to improve your skills and at the same time go to one of those exotic places in the world in Luxury.

A category D Balcony stateroom with all flights on the first sailing would be £4699, then of course you have to pay the cruise line for the workshop.

I would love to do this, a place I have never been to and the chance to improve my skills.

Photography Themed Cruises in Polynesia

I have heard about and booked a number of 'themed cruises', like Garden cruises and Dance cruises for my customers, but I found these Photography Themed cruises on Paul Gauguin Cruises for this August earlier today.

Now, there are a few things that appeal to me about this cruise.

1. It is a bit of Luxury, a specialist ship with a relatively small number of passengers and a high crew to passenger ratio.
2. The location, it must be on most peoples lists as top places to visit.
3. The photography workshops; now you might have seen a few of my photos here or on my facebook page, and I have to say I enjoy taking photo's and love learning to try to get better.

However there are some negatives, getting their from the UK is a nightmare, so its a long way to go for a weeks holiday and addeed to that the prices seen to be fairly expensive!

So being able to get all 3 and on a cruise would to me be bliss; not too sure that the bank manager would approve though!
